Congratulations to Nima Alibabaei, Co-founder & CEO – BKR Energy Company, who has been named in Mitacs’ The next 150: Researchers who’ll shape Canada’s future.
Mr. Alibabaei, who earned his PhD at Ryerson University, proudly accepted his award stating, “I am driven to protect the environment by creating smart software to better control home heating systems, reducing greenhouse gasses.”
Nima Alibabaei is an expert in controlling the performance of residential HVAC systems in order to leverage their energy efficiency by reducing their energy cost and GHG emission. He is proficient in developing HVAC advanced predictive controllers and smart dual fuel switching system (SDFSS).
Some of Nima’s accomplishments include innovative experiences in building thermal energy modeling, thermal comfort optimization, indoor climate performance, HVAC system energy efficiency, HVAC system demand and energy cost optimization, energy conservation strategy planning models, Model-based Predictive Controllers (MPCs), smart grid, demand side management, demand response, and peak load management.
In addition, Nima has forwarded BKR Energy’s contribution in the fields of:
- Residential HVAC system infrastructure and configuration.
- Home comfort and indoor climate performance optimization to reduce the energy cost and GHG emission.
- Net zero energy buildings (NZEBs) and high-performance building management.
- Process model making, optimization, load prediction, embedded, cloud-based, and user preference learning algorithms.
